HK day 3

As Cheryl and Erwin couldn’t join us for breakfast this morning, the both of us headed down to take some pictures and have our own breakfast. We had to check out at around 12 so we had a bit of time to just explore the little shopping mall that our hotel was located at.

Not Panda Hotel until you take some pictures of pandas:

Ate breakfast at this porridge place just at the entrance of the hotel. Great food for a decent price.

Damn, this was seriously good shit.

After breakfast, we walked around the hotel for a bit, and bought some stuff from some of the stores within the shopping complex, as they were going at pretty great discounts. I bought two work shirts at s$10 each, and a jacket for mom. Passed by a store that sold stuff for rearing stag beetles as pets. Really intriguing in a wtf kind of way, but I didn’t take any pictures.
After checking out, we lugged our bags to the train station and took a train down to Admiralty, where we met up with my aunt and uncle. Took a cab back to their place in Sai Wan Ho. Compared to the rest of the housing in HK, their apartment was fantastic, complete with a key card access system and a 24 hour security guard on petrol. Placed our bags, and headed out for some tea/ shopping.

Sai Wan Ho station walls:

Headed to City Plaza, which was about a 10 min walk from my uncle’s place. It’s supposedly one of the biggest shopping malls in HK, and true enough it was when we saw the place. I think for the next couple of hours we covered less than half of the place. Stella bought her Agnes B bag there, while I got a pair of sneakers and some Nike shirts from the sports store.

After some shopping, we met up with my uncle, aunt and my cousin and headed down to a Japanese ala carte buffet dinner place. Pretty good food, and we both ate till we were really full.

After dinner, my aunt and uncle brought us to the Causeway Bay area in search of some of the shopping areas that we were interested in hitting up. Passed by an Adidas concept store, Y3, sogo, some retailers carrying Porter and other stuff. Didn’t get anything from those retailers as they were mostly at parallel import prices.

My uncle then brought us to one of the prime drinking areas, lam kwai fong. Passed by BAPE store. Would visit that the next day. Had some drinks at a bar called The Cavern and really enjoyed the music. Pubbers here are somehow more enthusiastic, and the bands even went out of their way to bring people from their seats to the dance floor. They really did a good job of working up the crowd.
Stella and I after :Uncle and I :

Took a cab back to Sai Wan Ho and walked around the area for a bit, took a look at some of the pubs around there, and then went home to rest. I think by the time we got to bed, it was almost 2am already.
